Junior Bouldering Sessions

Our Junior Bouldering sessions are designed for young climbers to have fun, build confidence and develop their climbing skills in a supportive environment.

There are three session levels – Bouldering, Progression and Advanced – allowing young climbers to start with the fundamentals and progress as their skills and experience develop. Sessions are led by our experienced instructors and combine climbing, games, technique and challenges appropriate to each level.

Not sure which session is right for your child? New climbers should start with Junior Bouldering. Progression and Advanced sessions are for climbers with the appropriate experience and may require assessment by our coaching team.

Junior Progression is the next step for young climbers who have completed Junior Bouldering or have been assessed as ready to progress by our coaching team.

Sessions develop climbing technique, movement and problem-solving while working towards NICAS Bouldering Levels 1 and 2.

Junior Progression is not intended as an entry-level session, so children with no previous climbing experience should book Junior Bouldering first.

Available as a single session or a 6-week block.

Please arrive 10 minutes early – it takes a little time to check your paperwork and get your shoes fitted.

Getting here: We are easy to get to via car, train, or on foot. Find us on google maps Here

Parking: We have a small car park at the front of the centre, and a larger one at the rear of the building, accessed via Extract Coffee Roasters next door.

Please do not park on the road once you have passed our entrance.

What to wear: Wear loose comfortable clothing (what you would wear to the gym). It can be a little chilly in the winter, so make sure you have some warm clothes. However, you will warm up while climbing – wearing ‘layers’ that can be added or removed as required is ideal. Please bring some thin socks to wear with the climbing shoes.

Lockers: We have free to use lockers, which require your own padlocks (purchasable at reception).  However we cannot take responsibility for your valuables, so ideally do not bring anything of significant value to the centre.

Café: We have a great café serving coffee, cake, sandwiches and soft drinks.
