Supervising Kids
Climbing is for everyone, and young climbers are very welcome at Flashpoint Bristol – Easton!
Children and young people can climb throughout the bouldering centre, but depending on their age they will either need to be actively supervised by a registered adult or complete the appropriate registration to climb independently.
Please read the age and supervision requirements below before visiting.
Under 14s
A registered adult can normally supervise up to two children under 14 years old.
The supervising adult must take full responsibility for the safety of the children and complete the relevant paperwork before they climb.
If you are supervising children at Flashpoint, you must remain with them and actively supervise them at all times.
Poorly supervised children can present a significant hazard to themselves and other climbers. Supervision of minors is therefore at the Duty Manager’s discretion, and inadequate supervision will not be accepted.
Alternatively, let us look after the climbing! Our instructed kids’ sessions are a great way for young climbers to get started and develop their skills.
14–15 years
Experienced climbers aged 14 or 15 may be able to register to climb independently.
Alongside the standard registration, a parent or legal guardian must complete the required parental consent and unsupervised climbing paperwork.
A parent or legal guardian will need to visit the centre with the young climber to complete the registration process before they can climb unsupervised.
Until they have been signed off to climb independently, the normal supervision rules apply.
16+ years
Climbers aged 16 and over can register independently after completing our induction and registration forms.
