New to bouldering? Our Intro Sessions are a great way to get familiar with the centre, understand how everything works and start climbing with confidence.
Plus, after your session, you’ll get:
By the end of the 45 minutes, you’ll have a much better understanding of bouldering and how the centre works, plus some helpful tips, techniques and climb suggestions to help you get the most from your climbing. Afterwards, you can stay and climb for as long as you like (or until we close).
Everything is included. Just come in comfortable gym clothes, and we’ll sort you out with a pair of climbing shoes.
The next step? Book onto a Beginner’s Climbing Course at Redpoint to take your climbing further.

Before your session, you’ll need to complete a Boulder Only registration, including watching our short induction video and completing the Acceptance of Risk form. You’ll also answer a few safety questions when you arrive.
You can complete this online before your visit. If you’d rather register at the centre, that’s absolutely fine — just allow some extra time before your session starts.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your session so we can check your registration, get you fitted with climbing shoes and make sure you’re ready to start on time.
Your Adult Intro includes everything you need to get started. We’ll show you around the centre, explain how bouldering works, introduce the grading system and route setting, and get you on the wall trying some climbs.
Your Session Lead can also offer helpful tips, climb suggestions and introduce some basic techniques along the way. Climbing shoe hire is included, so just come in comfortable gym clothes.
Once the session finishes, you’re fully registered to boulder independently and can stay and climb for as long as you like (or until we close).
You’ll also get 1 week of FREE climbing at all Flashpoint centres, including FREE kit hire for the week.
Your free week also includes bouldering at Redpoint Bristol. As this session covers bouldering only, use of Redpoint’s roped climbing facilities isn’t included.
Please arrive 10 minutes early – it takes a little time to check your paperwork and get your shoes fitted.
Getting here: We are easy to get to via car, train, or on foot. Find us on google maps Here
Parking: We have a small car park at the front of the centre, and a larger one at the rear of the building, accessed via Extract Coffee Roasters next door.
Please do not park on the road once you have passed our entrance.
What to wear: Wear loose comfortable clothing (what you would wear to the gym). It can be a little chilly in the winter, so make sure you have some warm clothes. However, you will warm up while climbing – wearing ‘layers’ that can be added or removed as required is ideal. Please bring some thin socks to wear with the climbing shoes.
Lockers: We have free to use lockers, which require your own padlocks (purchasable at reception). However we cannot take responsibility for your valuables, so ideally do not bring anything of significant value to the centre.
Café: We have a great café serving coffee, cake, sandwiches and soft drinks.
You can cancel your bookings so long as you give us reasonable notice. This is different depending on what type of session you have booked.
Single Sessions: 72 hrs notice required
Parties: 7 days notice required.
Term Bookings: 7 days notice required (from the first session)
